An August 21 (2018) article published by the Washington Post detailed a brand-new condo development going up in Fairfax County, Virginia. Writer Audrey Hoffer painted a very good picture of what this development will be like once it’s complete. It will offer plenty of amenities, including on-site concierge service. As a side note, the development will be marketed mainly to older Americans approaching downsizing or retirement age.
We have absolutely nothing against retirement communities offering 24-hour concierge service. In fact, we are all for it. But the Washington Post article got us thinking. There seems to be a misconception in some parts of the country that residential concierge services are exclusive to wealthy retirement communities. Thankfully, it is not true.
